Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
In short. Transport Commander does not ask for an account and has no ads or in-app purchases. Your games stay only on your device. The game downloads maps, models, rules and metadata from the Maandrik service; the server keeps technical logs (IP address, time and file requested) for 14 days, solely for security and troubleshooting, and counts downloads anonymously. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Maandrik, Lda, NIPC 519463625, with its registered office at Rua Cimeira, n.º 11, Olalhas, Aboboreira Cimeira, 2300-061 Tomar, Portugal (“we”). We publish the game Transport Commander (the “app”) and this site, transportcommander.maandrik.com. For any privacy matter, write to geral@maandrik.com.
This policy applies to the app on Android (and on iPhone and iPad, once released), to the service that delivers content to the app and to this site.
2. What stays on your device
- Your games: your company (the name, colours and logo you choose in the game), the network, the routes, the vehicles, the cities and the company's in-game accounts.
- Your preferences: the interface look, the graphics, the driving side and the general route rules.
- Downloads: the maps, models, rules and metadata the game has downloaded.
- An anonymous device number, created by the game, which is used only for “Test versions” (see section 4).
This information stays in the app's private storage and is not sent to us. The app does not allow Android's automatic backup to copy your games to the cloud.
3. What the game downloads and what the server sees
The game downloads from the Maandrik service, at transportcommander.maandrik.com, the list of published maps, the maps, the models (buildings, vehicles, roads), the game rules and their metadata. It does so when showing the maps for a new game, when starting a game and when loading a game. The service delivers only data, never code.
As with any internet connection, the server receives your device's IP address. Each request also states the game version, so that the service can respond with compatible content. On this basis:
- Technical logs. For each request, the server records the IP address, the date and time and the file requested. We use them only to protect the service against abuse and attacks and to resolve problems. They are deleted after 14 days. We do not combine them with other data or attempt to find out who you are.
- Anonymous counts. The service counts downloads per game version and per map, per day. These counts do not store the IP address or identify devices or people.
- Protection. Requests pass through automatic protection against attacks, which may temporarily block an address that behaves like an attack.
Legal basis: performance of the service you request through the game (delivering the content) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and running (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)).
The servers are provided by OVHcloud, in France, in the European Union, which hosts them on our behalf. We do not transfer this data outside the European Economic Area.
4. Test versions
The hidden Cheats page, used for testing the game, has the Test versions switch, which is off by default. Only when you switch it on:
- the game shows the anonymous device number, so that you can add it to the list of test devices, and starts sending it to the service when checking for updates;
- the service uses that number only to deliver content under test to that device.
The number is created by the game and does not contain your name, your account or the device's identifiers. With the switch off, the game sends no identifier. Legal basis: your consent, which you withdraw by switching it off; ask us to remove the number from the test list and we will do so.
5. What we do not do
- There is no account, and the app does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- There are no ads and no in-app purchases.
- We do not use the advertising ID, usage analytics tools or crash reporting of our own.
- The app does not access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. On Android, it requests only the internet access permission, for downloads.
- We do not sell or share data for advertising.
6. This site
The site transportcommander.maandrik.com does not use cookies, analytics tools or third-party content (fonts, images and scripts are served by the site itself). The language and appearance you choose are stored only in your browser (local storage) and are not sent to us. The site's server keeps the same technical logs as described in section 3, also for 14 days.
7. Google Play and the App Store
The app is free and is installed and updated through Google Play, subject to the Google Privacy Policy. If you have turned on the sharing of usage and diagnostics data in your Android settings, Google may collect statistics and crash reports and show us summaries in the Google Play Console; that collection is carried out by Google, not by the app. When the app is released for iPhone and iPad, the App Store follows Apple's privacy policy.
8. When you write to us
If you write to us, we use your email address and what you tell us only to reply and deal with the matter, and we keep the message for as long as necessary for that purpose. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to you.
9. Children
The game is intended for players aged 13 or over. The app does not ask anyone for personal data, including children.
10. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may ask us for access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where the legal basis is consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Write to geral@maandrik.com; we will reply within one month.
As the app has no account, we may need your IP address and the approximate time in order to find technical logs relating to you. Please bear in mind that logs are deleted after 14 days.
You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: in Portugal, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), the Portuguese data protection authority, Av. D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º, 1200-651 Lisboa, telephone +351 213 928 400, www.cnpd.pt, or the authority of the European Union country where you live.
11. Security
Connections to the service and the site are encrypted (HTTPS). Each downloaded file has a checksum, which the game verifies before using it. Only Maandrik has access to the server logs.
12. Changes
If the app or the site changes the way it handles information — for example, if in-app purchases are ever introduced — we will update this policy at this address before the change, with a new update date.
