Saved games
How do I save my game?
The game saves automatically at the end of every in-game month. You can save whenever you like in Menu ☰ · Game · Save, and Main menu also saves before taking you back to the menu. Each game has its own slot and never overwrites another.
How do I continue a game?
On the Main menu, Continue opens the last game you played. Load game shows every game on the device, from newest to oldest; Open loads the one you choose.
How do I delete a game?
On the Main menu, tap Load game, choose the game and tap Delete. The game asks you to confirm, because this can't be undone. The game is removed from the list and from the device.
Can I move a game to another device?
Not yet. Games are stored only on the device you play them on: there's no account and no cloud copy, and the game doesn't let Android's backup take your saves. Uninstalling the game deletes your games.
My old game won't open
The game is still in development and, now and then, a new version changes the way games are saved. When that happens, games from earlier versions won't open and the game says “This save isn't compatible. Start a new game.” What's new shows which versions this happened in.
What happens when the company becomes insolvent?
The game ends: all you see is the Game over page, with the results of the last few years and the button to the Main menu. The game stays in the list, marked “Insolvent”. The top bar warns you beforehand with “Insolvency risk” — see Money.
Downloads and storage
What does the game download, and when?
The game you install from the store contains the essentials: the engine, the menus and the interface. Maps, models (buildings, vehicles, roads), rules and their metadata come from the Maandrik service:
- in the Map step of a New game, the game shows only the list of published maps, with the picture, the cities and the download size;
- when you tap Start, it downloads the chosen map and the models it needs, if they aren't on the device yet;
- when you load a game, it updates the models, metadata and rules to the latest versions, downloading only what has changed.
During a download, the loading screen shows the MB downloaded, the total, the time remaining and Cancel. An interrupted download picks up where it left off the next time, and every file is checked before it's used.
Do my games change when the content changes?
A game always keeps the map it started with, so no game is lost when a map is updated. New games use the latest version of the map. Models, metadata and rules move to the latest versions when you load the game.
Does it use my mobile data?
Small downloads happen straight away. For anything over 50 MB when you're not on Wi-Fi, the game asks first and shows the size. Playing a game that's already on the device uses no data.
My device has run out of space
In Options you can see how much space the downloaded maps and models take up. Delete downloads deletes the downloads for a map that has no saved games; the game downloads them again when they're needed. To free up more space, delete old games you no longer play in Load game. Downloads need free space on the device.
Can I play offline?
Yes, after the first time. If the device already has a game's map and models, the game opens without an internet connection and lets you know it couldn't check for updates. A new game on a map that isn't on the device yet needs an internet connection to download it.
The game says “Update the game in the store”
The latest maps and models need a newer version of the game. Until you update, the game won't open maps or games. Tap the button to go to the store (or open Google Play) and update Transport Commander; your games will still be there.
The download failed or got stuck
Check your internet connection and free space, and try again: the download picks up where it left off. A corrupted file is downloaded again automatically. If it keeps failing, write to us with your device model and the time it happened.
Devices and performance
Which devices does it run on?
On Android phones and tablets running Android 7.0 or later, with a 64-bit processor (ARM64) and Vulkan graphics — most devices from recent years. You can play in portrait or landscape, and on a tablet the pages open beside the map. The iPhone and iPad version is in preparation.
The game is slow or my device gets hot
In Options · Graphics, choose Economy: fewer shadows and fewer frames per second, to save battery. The game also scales back the graphics by itself while the device is hot. Closing other apps helps on devices with little memory.
How do I change the look of the interface?
In Options · Look, choose the Metro line or Departures board theme and the Automatic (follows the device), Light or Dark mode.
Does the game have ads or in-app purchases?
No. Transport Commander is free, has no ads and no in-app purchases, and doesn't ask for an account.
Help
How do I get help?
Write to geral@maandrik.com. To help us help you faster, tell us:
- your device model and Android (or iOS) version;
- the game version (in your device settings, under Apps · Transport Commander);
- what you were doing and what happened, with a screenshot if you can.
We use your email only to reply (see the Privacy policy).

Write to us at the same address. We read every message, and What's new shows what changes in each version.
How do I delete all the game's data?
Uninstalling the game, or clearing the app's data in your device settings, deletes your games, preferences and downloads. The game has no account, so there's nothing else to delete on our side: the server's technical logs are deleted automatically after 14 days (see the Privacy policy).
